Did you know?

It may seem like a small detail, but it isn’t.
In the elevator industry, there are regulations you can’t ignore — and UNI 10411‑1:2024 is one of them.
This standard specifies the minimum lighting levels that must be ensured in the lift shaft and in the machine room.
It’s not a recommendation. It’s a requirement.

What does it specifically require?
We take a detailed look at it in the video:
Lift shaft: minimum required illuminance 50 lux.
Machine room: minimum required illuminance 200 lux.

What does this mean in practice?
When you replace a control panel, you don’t necessarily have to replace the lighting system.
First, you must check that the existing lighting levels comply with the standard.
If the lift shaft falls below 50 lux or the machine room below 200 lux, then yes — the lighting must be replaced.

It’s a simple check, but a fundamental one.
